Description

The Speedmaster was first introduced in 1957 as a sports and racing chronograph. It gained fame when astronaut Walter Schirra wore it during the Mercury‑Atlas 8 mission in 1962, and later when NASA officially qualified it for spaceflight. The Speedmaster Professional became the first watch worn on the Moon during Apollo 11 in 1969, cementing its status as the “Moonwatch.” Over the decades, it has accompanied astronauts on all six lunar missions and numerous spaceflights, making it one of the most iconic timepieces in history.

Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux‑de‑Fonds, Switzerland. Initially a small workshop, the company quickly built a reputation for precision and quality. By 1903, the brand adopted the name Omega, symbolizing excellence and completion. Omega has since become a global leader in watchmaking, known for innovations in chronometry, its role as official timekeeper of the Olympic Games, and its association with space exploration. Today, Omega is part of the Swatch Group and continues to embody Swiss luxury and technical mastery.
